Joni Rogers-Kante wanted to kiss her young child’s cheek without leaving a trace of lipstick. In 1999 she founded SeneGence with her answer, LipSense® Long-Lasting Liquid Lip Color.
The following summer, Joni joined scientists and botanists at the caldera of Mount Yasur on Tanna, Vanuatu, to study life around the active volcano. An orchid was thriving in those extreme conditions, amid heat and volcanic ash. Its resilience inspired SenePlex+®.
After the expedition, Joni adapted LipSense® wear technology for a wider range of color. Since 2001, SeneGence has put anti-aging skincare into long-wear makeup, starting with SenePlex+® in MakeSense® foundation and highlighter. *

The orchid thriving in volcanic heat and ash inspired SenePlex+®, Nangai seed oil offered care for dry skin, and the fine volcanic ash became a polishing ingredient in Facial Resurfacer.
